LotR: The Third Age - Preview/Interview @ GameSpot

GameSpot has tossed up a preview of EA's 'Lord of the Rings: The Third Age' including a Q&A with Steve Gray, the executive producer of the project.
The Lord of the Rings juggernaut has been one of the few film franchises to make the transition to the gaming realm without too rough of a trip. The first two games released by Electronic Arts managed to re-create the satisfying experience of hacking orcs to death and saving Middle-earth from the evil of Sauron. Players who managed to make it to the end of last year's Return of the King were treated to a cryptic teaser for a game dubbed The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. EA ended speculation on what kind of game Trilogy would be today with the announcement of The Lord of the Rings, The Third Age, the game formerly known as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The game will send players on a quest that will span the events from all three films and let you interact with more than a few familiar faces. We had the opportunity to talk to Steve Gray, executive producer for The Lord of the Rings, The Third Age, to find out just what's going on with the promising game.

Another Middle Earth game? I hope they don't milk the Tolkien world too much. I'm starting to get bored of the whole ME thing (yes, I read the books looonng before the movies were announced)

I want to see Middle Earth's RPG not Lord Of the Ring's RPG.
The History of Middle Earth is about 9.000 years in 3 ages, why everyone chooses the timeframe of Lords of the Rings only?

Possibly beacuse LotR is huge now thanx to the movies by Peter Jackson, EA has the right to put out games based on the movies, and want to possibly exploit the license before it expires or whatever and VUGames are not only the lamest company around these days, but also has the license for the Middle Earth games, but not putting out games in that license is no huge thing as all their attempts so far have been despicable and utterly rubbish?
