the game is slow (intro, menu, game)

Hello everybody.
I've installed Gothic and the game is slow during the videos (like 1fps), the menus, and in the game. the sound is also bugged.
I run on a Win-Xp Pro SP2, AMD Athlon 64 3500, Geforce 6600 GT, 1Go RAM.
I played it one year ago on a Win-Xp home, P4 2.5Ghz, 768Mo RAM, Geforce 5700 Ultra without a single problem.

I don't understand why the videos are slow, I can play them normaly outside of the game. They are only .bik videos but they are still slow. I have this problem with them only in Gothic.

Thanks for your help.

Gorath has said that there is a problem with the 6600 card. Look here: http://www.rpgdot.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=520287

Welcome to our forum!

The 6600 series had driver problems with the Gothics, but this shouldn´t affect the speed. Of course the game should run at maximum speed, even if it doesn´t look correct.

Disable video scaling in the gothic.ini. If this doesn´t help disable the videos completely. Then lower the sound hardware acceleration and set the sound to Miles Fast.
