Yeah, I saw it. You know, announcements are a matter of technique. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I only suggested amazon to replace the logistics only. We see how much trouble Jo Wood has in this regard.
Outsourcing the logistics to a distributor is no problem. This is only a service, he is paid for moving boxes. Most smaller publishers do it this way. But they still need to get shelf space and stimulate the demand

Gorath: buying retail is historically driven. If Gothic 2 is known via web- and magazines reviews and mouth to mouth, but is not on the shelves AND can be bought via Amazon.com, people will buy it thru the internet.
At least I would, like you would, like he will
Of course many people here would buy G2 online. But we are hardcore gamers. The majority of the casual gamers donīt read reviews. If the box looks convincing they buy spontaneously.
I read what one of the Unreal 2 devs wrote about their target audience. He didnīt define it, but he said: "People who visit Shacknews or PlanetUnreal are not part of the target audience." _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Yes they are. They're just not the entire target audience. |

No they are not. Theyīre bonus.
Not my position, the dev said it that way. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Saw this at Avault.com news. Sorry if it is a repeat, if not it means JoWood has a new distributor or is G2 one of the 9 games? I thought Infogrames is to publish G2.
"Austrian-based developer and publisher JoWooD Productions has signed a publishing agreement with Encore for the marketing and distribution of nine games throughout North America. Encore will be managing the distribution of these titles while JoWooD will be delivering content. AquaNox 2: Revelation and Wild Life Park as well as Cold Zero and Chaser are among the PC titles covered in the agreement. All nine games will be available in the U.S. over the next six months. "
Well, I would not mind if we get add-on and G2 patched in Gold Edition by Christmas. At my age, dying to wait for game release is a real possibility. _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut? |

i was on Gamestop today and they say I could make my reservation today cause they are going to get the game on April-18-2003. So I hope this is good news if the information was right we are getting G2 in 18 Days. _________________ "Whow, the necromancer is here" -Bartacus to myself |

If that is an exact quote, then he misspoke. Hardcore gamers are, by definition, part of the target audience. |

But they are the smallest part. And no, Gothic 2 doesn't seem to be part of the Encore deal. _________________ Jaz |
