speaking of childish: typos are one thing, misspelled names the other...
I will draw back from this discussion now, it is getting childish indeed |

Regarding graphics it's interesting to note that when the Diablo2 demo/beta came out it sparked an almost identical debate (this wasn't true for D1 which had better graphics for the time). Alot of people hated the graphics and thought they were indentical and outdated. Other people thought they were fine. And still others argued that graphics didn't matter in an argument that mirrors the ones here and many other places. But I lost track of how many people predicted the game would fail and nobody would buy it because of what they considered horrible graphics. |

True niteshade...let's see how Lionheart performs in the retail version.
I wonder, why I am still receiving mails when this thread is updated, but since I do, I would like to say a few more words to Vid:
Man, let's both calm down...I think we both overreacted a little here. Simply let's agree to disagree, ok? |

Graphics aren't everything in a RPG, but they help, especially to hide lack of original or compelling content. If there isn't much game, then at least give us sparkley lights _________________ "You two are a regular ol' Three Musketeers." |

@ Niteshade, that is indeed a good point. I hated the Diablo 2 graphics and I'm not that keen on the repetitive shint tiles in NWN and Warcraft 3 is cartoonish - but there's just as many people who see it differently. Time will tell how Lionheart is reviewed when everyone can see the full extent of dialogue, quests, areas and so forth. For me, I see no reason why Lionheart won't be received well if the devs claims of depth in other areas are even partially true.
@Llama - noone believed that line on the Interplay boards and I doubt they'll believe it here. It may not be the best ever, or even all that good in the end - but it's not the worst ever. |

IMO Divine Divinity showed how to design a game like this if you want to release a demo ... with gameplay this simular there is really no excuse for such a sucky demo (publishers be damned, if publisher pressure damned the demo they will damn the game just as easily). |

It weems that more and more rpgs and mmorpgs use the same combat as Diablo and Neverwinter Nights. And this game is no different so I say that it's one of the most ridiculously lame and dull games ever. |

hmmm.....interesting theory. I always thought diablo and NWN had very different combat systems. But out of curiosity what MMORPG out there uses a combat system that's at all similar to one of these two games? |
