I actually hate the way they implemented familiars in this game.

Animal companions are an actual animal that thinks on its own for the druid. Same with summon monsters.... but...

These familiars are just a magic item. They even let you name them but what is the point?

I wanted to have a little imp flying around that would unlock doors. In NWN your familiar was a npc.
