ok, on your run down the mountain to the old camp, loot that chest on the left (we all know the one) and take the lockpick.
Now run into Diego hut, get to the chest and save game. Lockpick his chest (no worries) and take the lockpicks in there. Arm a weapon and run into Gomez' house, up the stairs and into the room that leads to the tower (saving the game before each locked door) inside the tower lie 3 levels each level has at least 2 chests, (bottom level = 3) pick them all you will find assorted potions, rings, amulets, horns, teeth, claws, furs, etc etc. That 20 minutes you spend looting that tower wll give you enough material to barter with until you hit your mid 20s |

Well you might not think it to be cheating, but if I am not mistaken you are exploiting an AI bug that allows you to run past the guards as long as you have a weapon equiped. They won't let you by when you act sane and ask nicely, but as long as you pull out a weapon and run past them like a loon everything is ok...I don't think so. Clearly and AI bug, and exploiting it is very similar to cheating. And as long as you understand that and are ok with it, then why not just do the cheat where you save before using the lockpicks and reload if you mess up, then you only need the one lockpick you get at the beginning thoughout the entire game.

Half the fun of the game is starting out pennyless and working your way up the ranks. Exploting a bug is cheating. If instead of running through the gate with your weapon armed, you took it and crammed it up someone's arse instead, well that's ok then.

Just make swords, you get 10 ore per sword, it is hard-work, not cheating, hehehehe. |

I just went and beat up the blacksmith in OC quite early in the game. Got 240 blades from him that can be sold for 40 each. That's almost 10,000 ore when you sell it piecemeal. Add that to the many chests in the OC castle and you don't have to pick up anything from the creatures or even steal from the huts, so far. |

But you beat up the blacksmith when in all truth the guard AI should have kicked in and they would slaughter you for attacking him...
I wonder if there are any other truely legit players here.  |

heh..i'll drink to that, Max..have a schnappes on me..
Only thing I've done in this game (this is my 1st time through) is to beat Scar's ass and take his sword..but, I guess that's the way of the OC..survival of the fittest, right??

It's not cheating to beat the hell out of the blacksmith. If you've paid your 10 ore for protection money and he has as well, then the guards stand there and do nothing. That's what they say when you ask them about it directly (what happens if I get in a fight with someone who's also paid?). They tell you flat out you can pound on whoever you want... as long as they get their share of the take.
Sensible logic in a colony of criminals. |

Someone in the camp told me that if to people that payed protection money fight to the dead, the will kill the winner.
Good thinking of the guards, the ged all the money, makes up for 2 people dead who paid 10 ore protection each day.
I will kill all the guards later, i already killed thebridge guard, before joining a camp.
You can stand up the treestump and shoot arrows in them, the can't get to you.
So the walk around like crazy trying to get to you.
That funnie.
the only had weak weapons and 10 ore each, basterds. The should have had more. |
