Which is better?

Which item is more useful:

1. Damage reduction +5 soak 5
2. Damage reduction +3 soak 10

Please explain your reasoning!!

Thanks.

It depends a bit on the enemies you are facing but i would surely go for the Damage reduction +3 soak 10, In the vanila game and SoU there are very few enemies with +3 weapons or greater, so you should go for the biggest soak i would say. And by the time your enemies get +3 or +4 weapons, which would of course make te first option better, You will be so powerful yourself that those 5 damage reduction is not very significant anymore, though it might just be the difference between victory and painful death

In short, low level enemies (untill you reach lvl 18 ) the second option,
on the high leves levels the first option

but i think that on the higher level you will have somewhat more useful items to put into your slots

This was kind of my thinking ... although another level of Dwarven defender will grant (I believe) 6 absorbtion anyway, at which point I might as well go with the second option ... until I find a better cloak. BTW this is in the Aeilund Trilogy ... not sure what penetrating power the beasties have ... but time will tell.

Thanks for the feed back!!
