Rapax rift ? and general stuff

I'm a templar but forgot to kill the Lava Lord. Can I go back without making the Rapax red? And is there any way to get Ferro's Armory Key without pp or killing him? PP sucks, next game I'm not using the latest patch, just V1. I install the first patch but not the final, right? And can I wander around just for fun to level up. No rush for finishing. Who can use the Giant's sword? Fang is a great sword! Is The robe of Rejuvenation worth 100k? Thanks all.

Yes, as far as I know (assuming you don't kill any Rapax in the process, which you don't have to)

Nope. Don't sweat it- Ferro's "safe" doesn't have anything fabulous in it. Certainly not enough to justify eliminating the best merchant in the game.

Correct. You might check the 1.2.4 patch's readme, because I think there's a couple bug fixes that you won't have. IIRC, the showstoppers are gone, but there's a few things that could cause you trouble if you aren't aware of them (for instance, all-female party visiting Al-Sedexus was addressed in 1.2.4- so you'd want to plan accordingly)

You can wander all you like. The only drawback is that the autoleveller will keep up with you, continually scaling the monsters. Not necessarily a problem, but be aware.

Right click to find out what items do and who can use them. Don't forget the second button up at the top that flips between classes and races- that's the one that will show you that only a mook of certain classes can use the giant sword. Fang is excellent. At the point in the game where you can purchase things such as the robe, money is not usually an issue anymore. Buy it, try it, return it if you're disappointed. It will cost you maybe 20,000gp if you don't want it, but that probably won't break you.

Sorry Dteowner. You forgot that if you give Ferro the Pickled Trynnie, he gives you the armory key.
