Nice interview with R.A. Salvator at Gamespy - talks about Forgotten Realms and gets into his new game - Demon Stone. Got me excited for it!!!!

I can't believe he went back to first edition when all of his characters have always been third edition aspiring.

Action games are action games... I'm sure it will be good but I don't think I'll run out and buy it just because it has a chance at having an actual story because Salvatore wrote it.

He is creator of Drizzit, one of the most famous characters in Forgotten Realms setting.
Among many:
Icewind Dale trilogy
Dark Elf trilogy
Cleric Quintet
The most recent Is The Hunters Blade trilogy (the third one is still not out yet)
His work doesn’t concentrate on FR, although I didn’t get the chance to read these, BTW he also wrote some books in Star Wars universe.

First Edition of D&D (I don’t even know if there suppose to be an A) and I’m guessing here. The most recent rules for AD&D are 3.5, Xen is guru about the subject on this site and then some.

PS or X-Box it’s not PC

There's an "A" in AD&D first edition ... advanced dungeons and dragons.

Unless he's gone back to Dungeons and Dragons (original). Which is ... well... old.

First edition AD&D is.. simple. I guess that might be appealing to some. It takes 5 minutes to make a character and a roll is a roll... there are no skill checks, skill ranks, modifiers to combat (many anyways), attacks of opportunity, etc...

And barbarians, cavaliers, and monks were unstoppable powerhouses...

ah..cool..actually DO know what that is..but just wasn't connecting there. I think that first edition would work better with a game that is not meant to be straight up RPG, but rather action based. Anyone picking this up on Tuesday?

Indeed First Edition would work great for a game that is meant to be simple fast paced action.

It is 20 years closer to the table top wargame that gave birth to D&D than today's convoluted character driven RPGs after all.
