I was thinking of getting this game, but not if decreased frame rates force me to a low graphic resolution. This is what I have:

nVidia TNT 2 pro 32mb AGP2 (crappy mass produced card)
Athlon 1 GHZ
512mb sdram

Your comments are welcome. Do you play this on a similar system? Thanks...

I have impression (and it is just my opinion), that this graphic card is not suitable for this system (for 1Ghz proc and 512 RAM, you should by somthing like GForce 2GTS or weaker GForce 3).

So answer: your system is good enough to play Gothic. But your CPU and RAM is big enough to play it in something like high resolution, max details, all effects on, but your graphic card is on downmost level (in readme is writen that everything under TNT2 is not suported).
So with medium (maybe low) details, res. etc., you will be albe to play it.
If someone has system similar to yours (and I am doubting about it, because it is not ussual combination), he will be able to tell us more.

Well, I played the demo on a PII 350, 64MB, Monster Fusion 16mb

So, yeah, it should work on your system.

Btw, it sometimes doesn't work with onboard sound drivers.......

My system:
TBird 850
256 MB SDRAM 100
Geforce2 GTS 32 MB
on Asus A7V

running in 1152*864*32
visible distance 300%
everything on max

OS: WindowsXP

Everything runs great, just sometimes when great area is "coming to may eyes", game slowdown for 0,5 s (but it is 2times in hour of playing).

My friend:
1600 Tbird
512 DDR
Gforce 2 GTS 32 MB

running 1024*768*16
visible range 100%
with more slowdowns

???

Do not know why it is, but it is for sure

I think I have a pretty good system, but I get some real bad slow downs when running , I'll have to test it with some new drivers but here's the specs.

2 x 1ghz Intel Pentium 3
1 gig memory
2x40gig hd + 1x60gig all ata100mgz
64meg hercules 3d prophet 3
sb live platinium
running xp

all stuff is optimised, and i still get slowdowns, seems to go slow mostly in open areas, haven't had much trouble with multiple oponents making the game go slower

My system has probably half of your comp-power, but I hove no slowdowns even if I am fighting witch 10 or more enemies.
I just forget to say, that I have little problem with fire, if there is fire near to me, I have little slowdown.
