I see some people here listen to good music. I noticed someone mentioning Laibach : u know, they really sound even better when performing live ( I was like 5m from the stage )
Quite some of you listen to metal, and good as I am, I'll tell you about some bands which you might not have heard before.
First of all, I'll start with "not so heavy" metal :
The perfect choices are :
-Blind Guardian ( the best power metal band )
- u probably never heard of if, but
Paradise Lost is currenty one of my favourite bands. Its kind of goth-rock style of music.
Here are some samples ( lousy quality ) : ( note, realplayer is required to play the files ) just scroll down and select a sample ( sadly the choice is limited and you cant hear some of my fav songs, but u might give it a try with ERASED, and TWO WORDLS )
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail//B00006L3LQ/qid=1088195696/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-3143064-5283363?v=glance&s=music
Next band I would recommend is Lacrimas Profundere. They started out more as a doom metal band, then they changed their style to more goth-rock with their previous album.
this is a link to their homepage. http://www.lacrimas.com/frameset/frameset.htm On the top of the page click on The music, choose option Listen, then in the middle of the screen click on >>> listen to sound, then "select" and choose the album of your choice. I recommend : Fall I will follow - Liquid, under you
Buring a wish - solicitude silence ( this includes song includes some death metal vocals ( glowling )), Last dance etc...
Its time to get a little more brutal.
My favourite melodic death metal bands are the following :
Dark Tranquillity: one of the best, if not the best melodic death metal band
I couldnt find any samples with good quality so this is it ( these clips are far from what the songs sound in good quality )
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/clipserve/B000069AVC001002/028-6251288-5447736 Scroll down and select the following titles ( hell, they're all great ! ) but u could try Hours passed in exile, Single part of two, Monochromatic stains
Another great melodic death metal band is Insomnium
http://www.insomnium.net/mp3_video/The%20Day%20it%20All%20Came%20Down.mp3
http://www.insomnium.net/mp3_video/Bereavement.mp3
http://www.insomnium.net/mp3_video/insomnium_-_the_elder.mp3
http://www.insomnium.net/mp3_video/insomnium_-_medeia.mp3
Then there is Amon Amarth ( thumbs up for the best viking metal band )
http://w1.864.telia.com/~u86407375/albums/Legend.mp3
http://w1.864.telia.com/~u86407375/albums/Victorious.mp3
But if you dont like metal in general, you could give a try with Frou Frou:
this is a link to their page and the music starts playing the moment the page loads, those are the samples from their album, on the left you have a small bar where you can choose between 3 samples http://www.froufrou.net/home.htm
There, I hope I didn't leave out any of the bands I wanted to share with you... happy listening _________________ now as the lights go down

Global Goon - you set my face on fire
Off of the Family Glue LP, Global Goon has constructed a nice piece of work here. Really lovely synth washes. _________________ The real secret of magick is that the world is made of words. Run DMC, raising hell

I disagree. There has been a lot of good hip hop since Run DMC. For instance, Dr. Octagon, Deltron 3030, Handsome boy Modeling school or other projects from Dan the Automator. The Anticon family, cLOUDDEAD, Boom Bip, buck 65, MF Doom or Madvillian. Cannibal Ox and Aesop Rock aren't that bad either. Any hip hop released off of Warp including Beans, Anti-Pop Consortium and Prefuse 73 are all recommendable. The Quannum Collective is another good choice with DJ Shadow and Gift of Gab. DJ Spooky is another good selection for experimental hip hop, soundscapes and illbient. There's a good bit of decent hip hop out there, you just have to dig beneath the MTV/ Radio junk. (If you just can't seem to take the hip hop, try trip hop like Massive Attack, DJ Cam, Portishead, Tricky, or some DJ Krush [although he's more smoky jazz over hip hop])
Currently listening to Gak EP; a four track EP under one of the many mokiers of Richard D. James. _________________ The real secret of magick is that the world is made of words. And that if you know the words that the world is made of, you can make of it whatever you wish. -Terence Mckenna |

Amelia, I'll take your word for it, I can't say that I am much of a rap/hiphop buff. I'm more of a Rocker.
Currently listening to Dream Theater, In the name of god. _________________ R.I.P "Dimebag" Darrell Lance Abbott
