My Wood Elf isn't cutting the Mustard!

I go like this when i walk the mines. But I go like this when my BOW DOESNT KILL THE GUY. What Im saying is that my wood elf is an archer. That means he should have 45(marksman) + 15(wood elf attribute). That should make 60. PCGAMER even says it should give me 75. Well at lvl 2( 10 hours game play) and so many quests done, i realize that i dont have 60 or 75. I have 45. I miss every shot almost. Is this a bug? Should I restart with a new character, cuz now im like wood elf with no advantages. Infact, it didnt add me the +10 sneak,+10 light armor, + 10 alchemy, or +5 acrobatics. Somethings wrong. Should I make new character?

console

i had this problem, where it didn't add in the bonuses given by my race, and i was using a woodelf too. what i did is just go into the console and add in the bonuses yourself. its not cheating cause your supposed to have them anyway.

Excuse me, but the skill points you see on your menu include all the racial bonuses. If you are 45 in marksman, that means 30+15. It's just a start-up bonus.
Your skill goes up only if you are successful at it. If you miss a lot, it's waste of time. Practice with weak creatures, or get training.

But the PC Gamer Mag says im supposed to have 75. Like if your redguard, your supposed to have 50 long blade.

Also, I decoded the Morrowind Box.

From TOP GOING CLOCK WISE:
-DRES
-INDORIL
-TELVAN
-DAGOTH
-REDORAN
-HLAALU

why did I do that, Who Knows...

IIRC, the base value for a major skill is 30. You can get max 15 points by racial advantage, and 5 points more by class type (magic/warrior/sneak) So it's natural that a Redguard warrior gets 50 in long blade.
AFAIK it's impossible to get 75 points right after start. That's unrealistic, isn't it

I don't know about PC Gamer, but from what I remember the bonusses are:
Major Skill = 30
Racial Bonus = 15
Bonus if you specialize in that type of skill (Stealth?) = 5

So the maximum would be a starting skill of 50.

What other bonusses could you get?

Probably PC Gamer added the racial bonus twice by accident.

Check your aim!

With a very respectable 45 Marksman, you should be hitting reasonably frequently. Getting the hang of bows is tricky - you have to experiment a lot to work out where the arrow goes and how much power to use (hold down the attack button for a while before releasing). Practice on mud crabs and the like with low-damage arrows (don't waste the good ones!). You can see the arrow fly through the air - watch out for it to see whether your aiming too low or high.

Your starting attribute and skill levels vary depending on many things. If you're going all out for missile weapons, then as stated a Wood Elf with Marksman as a major skill and Stealth as a character class focus should give you the best bonuses (50?). Having a high Agility, a good bow and full fatigue will probably help too.

(Incidentally, I generated a throw-away character to try and maximize Endurance once. It turns out that a male Orc with Endurance as a prime attribute born under the sign of The Lady starts the game with 80 Endurance! )

Actually, I thought IGN said it was possible to start an ability at 75. Now, I just don't see how this is possible because the major skill base = 30. Is there something we are missing?

i have a marksman skill of 78-after LONG hours of trying...but it is worth the effort. i can nail fast moving NPCs while i'm in midair. maybe that's just my mouse. also got a ring that raises my marksman +5, and enchanted my daedric bow with a drain attribute spell. i got the bow deep in a daedric shrine somewhere, cant quite remember where. theres so many of those, and few with actual names.
