Gonna compile Top RPGs by RPGDot Board members...

Hey all, I often find myself sitting at work with nothing to do while I'm running subjects in my lab, so I've decided that I'm going to compile a Top RPG list based on the votes in the thread "Top 10 rpgs of all time", which should still be active. Please vote in that thread if you haven't already done so; vote up to 10 RPGs (ranked).

Here is how I'm thinking of doing the scoring:

#1 vote = 10 pts.
#2 vote = 9 pts.
#3 vote = 8 pts.
...
#10 vote = 1 pt.

And so on. If someone put a tie for first place between two games, I will award 9.5 pts to each game, and the next game in the list shall be considered a third-place vote. If someone put more than 10 games, I will ignore everything beyond the 10th place finish.

If someone did not rank the games, I will give all of the games 5.5 pts (average of top 10). If someone did not rank the games and put down more than 10 games, I guess I will either ignore that person's vote, or average the points (there are 55 points total, so if there are 14 games, each game will receive 55/14 points).

So if you did not vote before, OR you did not rank the games before, please respond in the "Top 10 RPGs of all time" thread, and make sure to say if you have already voted before and are now ranking your games. I think I'll take all votes made through Friday morning, and I'll try to compile the list (in a spreadsheet) on Friday afternoon. Then I'll post the results later...

Any comments or suggestions?

Life is lonely in the lab when no one else is around and no work is to be done

My list is in the "Top ten rpgs of all time" thread and apparently I did rank them back then. Odd, but good. Less work for me!

Anyhow, I'm gonna be pissed if Wasteland turns out to be left out of the compiled list. Yup.

Editing is probably better, to lessen the chance of me double-counting something. If you already ranked them and you're happy with your choices, then you don't need to do anything

I'm not a real RPG fan and I don't think I've played even up to ten RPG's in my lifetime. Most of the Top Ten games on my list would be of the FPS genre.

Also... I once absolutely loved Diablo... but I got really really sick of it. Today, I won't even install the game if you paid me $10. So I'd be reluctant to put it on any top 10 list.

However, my current top, absolutely fav. would be Gothic.

I wanna vote for Gothic... but I don't have 2-10.

That's OK... I can put you down for 10 points for Gothic, and 0 points for everything else.

ERb... the same here (I mean, I'm not a true blue CRPG player), but I managed to collect enough RPG titles to please Windwalking . And I had to make a new list since some things changed.
