Just curious what caused the forums to go belly-up yesterday. Did we get attacked, or did we just slip an electron or two?

No, not an attack. Apparently some of the database tables aren't closing properly but we don't really know why...Myrthos is investigating whether some software updates a few weeks back went awry or if it's something else. It's only happened three times over several weeks so Myrthos may have to work some magic to tie it down.

It is 2:15 am Wednesday and i am still experiencing the problem, all the post for the 23 will not let me post comment, I get the error I posted above.
Look on the News Froum, do you see Gothic 3 Gamespy review?
I don't, nothing from the 23 is showing up in the forum.

You're right. I don't see it, either, but I'm not at home so I can't access the news page to check into the matter. I'll try again later on (I'll be home in roughly 8 hours), unless somebody else can check into this before that.

Yes, just checked it out, same here (approx 10am gmt) no Gamespy review in the news thread!
.....But yesterday i noticed a distinct new layout with the Jolt flash advertisement banners and widened viewing screen?....uh uh!...here we go again.

Okay, checked into it from my business end.
The forums per se seem to work like they should, all settings are normal, so the reason behind this inability to post newsbit comments must lie somewhere outside of the forums.
This means it probably is a case for our database wizards; they will be alerted to the problem.
EDIT
Myrthos just fixed it . Posting comments should work again.
