Hey Maggot... Good question. I am American, and I hate how they block out the Nudity. To be honest, I could do with a little less gore (I guess they have fed us too much).
Anyway, for those who want to see Nudity in the Gothic Demo, but can not get it in the tub, go to the Map Maker, and buy his "Drawing". It isn't anything spectacular, but you do see a nipple or two.

I cannot believe how terribly disappointing that the North American version will be censored. This is terrible terrible news.
I really hope their will be a patch (official or otherwise) that will restore the game back to its original state. I guess I will watch the forums and see if one pops up. I doubt I will even buy the game if it has been tampered with. |

Yes it's very easy..for the demo there's not an patch needed...either you download the patch.. or just do this: make a backup of the bikini texture and delete it in the Gothic dir. then you got the honey without that shit  |

I am sure the nipple thing is merely to get a tamer rating on the game. Instead of coming out with an adult version, they just covered the nipple and probably put some ways to revert back to the original for the truly dedicated nipple enthusiast. They were probably able to change the rating on the game from suitable for people 16 and up to 12 and up or something just by getting rid of the nudity. Its just an easy way to tell parents that the product they are buying their child has nudity or excessive violence. If Gothic or Xicat wanted, they could have released the regular version, it would have just limited their audience. The decision was theirs. |

I'm from America and what I find strange is that we'll put as much sex and nudity into our movies and TV shows as we can get away with but nudity or sex in a computer game is off limits. It must be because of the preconcieved idea that games = children.
It's like America has a split personality. At the same time that were bombarded with sex (and you better believe that we are) we're also afraid of it. |

Well, but what about the drugs? Are those the same in the english version? It's okay to have your character using drugs, but not talking to naked chicks? |

i am an american and i have decided not to purchase the full version of gothic. i guess the demo will be all i will experience of this 'once' great game. too bad they decided to turn it into a kiddie game. |
