Which format you like better?
For couple years now i tried few free ebook programs with online books from project Gutenberg. Never finish any of them. Reading novel with real book in hands still feel better than anything...

Normal books ofcourse are still better.
And why?
- it is easier to handle book, you can take it everywhere
- it is more comfortable to read book (you do not need to sit somewhere and watch on something in certain height...)
- normal monitors are not really good for eyes (and you usually feel it)
But I do not doubt that future tablet - notebook - PCs with very good LCD (or something new) will be very strong competition for normal books. |

well, you can also take your computer with you, but it isn't really handy...

There is just something about a real book that feels good. Not just in hand but in mind as well. I have so many now I have no room, but I wouldn't get rid of any of them.

I generally prefer on-screen reading, but when I'm reading a novel I like to stretch on the sofa or in the bathtub. Difficult to accomplish with an e-book. Then again, I never ditched an e-book into the tub, certainly an advantage...

I prefer real books, personally. It's easier to take it to the park so I can lay in the sun and read.

E-books are pretty convenient. But I still like a normal book batter.

Yes, there's something about a real book that's not easy to describe. It just feels better than reading on a screen. I preferred real books too... until I got a PDA. One of its thousand uses is reading e-books. You can take it with you everywhere you go; heck, it's smaller and lighter than any real book out there. Not only that, you can carry dozens of e-books in it at any time (and most importantly, games ). You can easily bookmark and search the e-books. You can even have it auto-scroll for you if you're too lazy to press the buttons.  Finally, e-books are dirt cheap: compare the prices of a real book and a e-book on Amazon. 'nuf said.
Then again, there's something to be said about a collection of books sitting on the shelf, ready to be read. I think it's a tie in this case: I like both!

For me, its a real book. Though an ebook might be cheaper, and in some cases, more convenient, I still like a real book better. I love to read and reading a real book gives me a sense of relaxation that I cannot get from reading an ebook. There's more of a sense or feel of "leisure" to it. And yeah, for people who have to stare at computer screen for the most part of the day, ebooks can be hard on the eyes. In addition, real books have a sort of smell that ebooks can never duplicate. And real books have a sense of permanence there wheras ebooks does not evoke that same feeling. |

I prefer real books too. I like to looking at them on the shelf. It feels reeeal good when i see the whole collection of my favourite writers:)
I have e-books too. Not novels, but rules book about RPGs and some technical stuff:)
Again: it's a draw

If i read a book it is a real book. Reading a book on a pc is a waste of pc power.

I really prefer more real books - they are easier to read, and don't have the damaging effect on my eyes as stuff I read on my computer. |
