I like it too. Cool old-timey song and all. I also got a Fallout promotional movie off the net "how to deal with fallout" or something - I'm not sure if it was actually included with either game - it had the usual cartoons and 50s-style images demonstrating correct emergency procedures (might have had some gameplay footage mixed in there too) - the only bit I can remember clearly is one of the cartoon blokes who'd been looking at a nuclear explosion without his goggles and had smoking holes for eyes. Anyway, I remember it was funny. |

Lets see here...tough to decide and to remember the many intros I've seen down through the years. I really liked the intro for the floppy disk version of Shadowcaster(not the cd version which was different). I also liked the intro for Terra Nova(it had some seriously rocking music playing in the background). Also, the intro to the first Lands of Lore. The Stonekeep intro was cool too(I still mourn for Stonekeep 2). Oh yeah, also the intro to Alone in the Dark 2.
Those are all I can remember right now, might remember others later. _________________ "Mr. Magee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

what about The Curse of monkey island intro ?! ( marvellous game, very hilarious and I loved every minute of it )
I agree on Fallout intro, loved it. W3 also has a very solid intro also I think that the movies in this game are one of the best in general.
Oh do you remember Abe's Oddysee ? guess not _________________ now as the lights go down

I liked the intro of Need For Speed: Underground, it is so great and cool, you see many drifts, also the intro of gothic 2 is great(it's dialogue) and the intro of Generals: Zero Hour is so active(action). _________________

i think Blizzard makes the best movies, warcraft 3 and frozen throne movies are the greatest, especially where illidan wakes the naga and Diablo 2 has great movies(intro wasnt much fun though) and Starcraft too |

Never played Starcraft, but WC3 had the greatest movies ever. Diablo(II) on the other handhad nice graphics, but the movies themselves weren't that great... |

[quote="Chekote"]Its kind of dull now, but at the time I was very impressed by Syndicate. Mainly because I was running it on a Comodore Amiga 1200 from 3.5" floppies.

Never played the game, but I remember the High Quality Intro. Years ahead for the time being. Today we have almost reached that quality of gameing.
Another greate one for me was WingCommander V The Prophecy. "There shall come a time when one who has the hearth of a Kilrathi, but is not Kilrathi born, shall rain cleansing fire down upon us and Knathrak a time of greate darkness shall embrace us." I learned my English with this game so that explains quite a lot.
And as mentioned by other ones the Quality of the Gothic intro's is also very high. Perhaps a note for NotR too. I also liked the intro for that special Quest.
I've seen and played WC3 and didn't really liked it. I don't mean that it was bad and certainly not awfull, just that isn't the style I like. _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows

We're actually talking about intros, and not gameplay obviously, so you don't have to like the way the game is played... And I remembered. Heroes of Might & Magic 4 had Great intro as well... |

At which point I said anything about gameplay? Never, suggest you read posts before you put an answer like that, Nobody. I was saying that the graphical qulity of games today reaches the graphics quatliy of the old syndicate intro.(a game of 1993, I believe) _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows

Obviously, "it" refers either to "WC3", "seeing WC3", or "playing WC3" here, doesn't it? You never mentioned "WC3 intro" in any part of your post. So, I in my turn suggest that you read your post before posting. |
