I dont know what do you mean by I/O error but the most common errors during the installing of cd2 is that some file is corrupted. So if that is your problem I have to sujjest two things:
1) try to erase Gothic2 manually cause isnt installed propertly and then
reinstall.
2)when the error "hits" you skip the file.If there is no option to skip the file press the "X" button at the up right corner of the message error board and the ninstalletion should run normally after this. The game will work alright altough you skiped the file ,'cause the file is usually a sound file or something its not needed actually. _________________ I come from space. From outer space! |

Make sure that your second cd isnt dirty or scratched and try to hit the retry button many times and see what happens. An old-fashioned trick but some times works!Never know with the dam/idiots/fdhbfsdhvbs/&*%&*%^&$ computers
Also if some of your friends has the cd2 check if that works.
By the way there should be a skip button.....hhhmmmm..... I get old! _________________ I come from space. From outer space! |

I don't want to promote piracy or anything, but if CD2 is broken and you can't make it work, I think you have the right to download it from the internet. Ofcourse if you don't have a good connection, either send the cd's back and request new ones, or go to the store if it's in walking distance to get new ones.
I think it's really bad when you buy a game and the CD's is corrupted.
Gothic 2 is a great game though, and ofcourse it's NOT piranha-bytes fault, that the CD-burning machines screw-up :S |

Install the game on another PC. Then you know if the CD is damaged. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
