Right click on Dak'kon, you get a circular menu one of the icons allows you to cast spells..... atleast that's how I remember it. _________________ Kewl quotes:

Planescape Torment has got to be the only D&D game I've ever played where I never used spells. Not even Fall's From Graces healing spells (I let people die because I could raise them whenever I wanted). Plus I'd keep people out of combat except for me... and with my highest stat being con and everything I had geared towards faster regeneration, those little green 1s on the screen were insane (often slowing my system by themselves).
Had plenty of spells used against me, naturally... but any of the super-magic heavy bosses, I'd just send in Mr Magic Immune (not going to spoil who he is) until the screen stopped shaking (my computer at the time couldn't handle the spell effects without serious skipping/lag, so it was a neccessary thing to do). _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

OOhh thax heaps for that wee tip I've always steered away from using spells (and therefore playing a mage or priest) because they're just so dammed complicated to figure out how to use (except for Arx Fatalis - now that was easy ). Good idea about only sending Nameless One into combat, I'm forever having to watch the others and I spend a fortune on life potions. In fact I'd rather play the single player games, but I had PST sitting here and I'm at a loose end for games at the mo, lol, so thought I'd give it a go, don't really like the BG-type games - all that uphill to go North does ma 'ead in. Anyway, good idea, and thanx for that. I must be miles from the end, coz Annah's only just joined me , dunno if I'll finish it even. It's not a bad game, just dammed tedious. _________________ There're 3 sorts of people who're good at maths - those that are and those that aren't. |

You are, indeed, miles from the end. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

HHmm I thought so. It's gone back on the shelf as of today, lol. Gothic arrived so I'm playing that - or rather trying to - it's kinda hard figuring out the keyboard commands though. Still, I'll sort it.
No doubt I'll get back to PST, I like the story-line and the characters are shaping up rather nicely - just a pity it's so tiresome. _________________ There're 3 sorts of people who're good at maths - those that are and those that aren't. |

I can see that PST's shaping up to be a good game, and no doubt I'll go back to it, it's just that I much prefer the games where your character can walk around in amongst the sets, not just be a tiny figure stuck onto a static set where there's no real interaction with it. The pics while the next scene is loading are wonderful, it'd be a truley excellent game if you were able to walk amongst THOSE buildings. As I said before, I've been spoiled by the interactivity of "Morrowind," "Arx" and now "Gothic," I think it makes for more involvement with your character and the environment and people around you if you're able to see the actual 'thing' you're dealing with - I have a 19" screen so I'm dammed if I know how those with a 14" can even SEE the characters in a BG game In fact the BG games remind me of the kind of games that I played on my Amiga 8 - 10 years ago, you'd think by now theyd've moved along with the times and made them more 'user friendly' _________________ There're 3 sorts of people who're good at maths - those that are and those that aren't. |
