Overrated: Gothic 2
i like the "fresh" look of the world, but it should be larger like
Morrowind: Big world to explore, but the colours make me somewhat depressed.
Evil Island is great; cause its so hard to play ( in these days the design_guys popping into programmers office every day " make it a little easier - we dont want to lloose custumers !" and
" add another jump&run part ; we want to have everyone buying this " or " why cant we add a car_race?"

I am really awaiting Borderzone......

Big like MW? You would get a game that is mostly filler like MW. No thanks.

Gothic 2 is underrated, not overrated. It is absolutely fabulous! How far have you gotten in it? Have you gone to the Valley of Mines yet?

I expect people in German to have a different perspective. In US Gothic2 is definitely underrated.

I think the future trend of RPG is totally lies in the reviewers since they can totally influence the market demand, and all reviewers strangely seem to have exact same taste. CPRG in the future will be a lot shorter, less depth, more bugs, predictable stories, prettier, and have better music. Reviewers are very predictable. They are not impressed unless you push the hardware to the limit. They are not impressed if they have seen it before. Also lots of people I have met in my college dorm room would not even give a game a chance if it doesn't have state of the art graphics and good music.

I think if we can gather all those people and all reviewers and all microsoft executives into a room, and gas them. We will then have great games in the future.

Hmmm, gassing all those reviewers and execs!! A most interesting idea. Just leave all the ones from here alone, they do an excellent job.

Gothic 2 may be underrated around some parts, like the US. But it is definitely OVERRATED around here.

Oh, please.

Many sequels have GENERALLY gotten better reviews than their prequels, like FO2, WC2, BG2, IWD2 etc.

Pushing harware to the limit? Isn't it good to do as much as possible with old hardware?
Or do you say that games get better reviews if they require top of the line computers? In that case... they don't.

Gothic 2 is not overrated anywhere. It is the best game I have ever played. Period.

Gothic 2 may be overrated a little here. It does have it's flaws. But, it has been underrated here in the U.S.

A bard's Tale series is very underrated.

What do you find overrated there? I think it is one of the most justly rated games. There is nothing neither over, nor underrated about both of the games

Depends if you think Diablo ia an RPG!! I don't. Personal taste/choice, but I agree it's over-rated.

Well, I have played it, and I think it IS an RPG - it has enough character development and background story (admit it - the world of Diablo is quite huge and is also quite interesting fantasy one, without the dwarf, elfs, etc. And the actual dark atmosphere gives quite a good feel) that fill most of the flaws of having almost no actual game story, not that good grafics and lack of quests. Also, there are quite a few good mods for it (I would mention only one of the most recent ones, Blackned) that give quite a different feel to the game. Don't forget the multiplayer, it is one of the best multiplayer in RPGs, as few actually have a descent one.

Diablo is not a bad game actually.

It's one of those brainless games that I can just play to relax..... It's the type of game I play when I get home from work exhausted.
