Can't open first treasure hunt chest

I found the first chest on Level 4 for the Treasure Hunt chest, but no matter how much I 'use' an emerald on the chest to open it, it won't open.

The clue in the tavern said that you need an emerald to open the chest... well how do you do this?

you just use an emerald on the chest; there are two chests in that room, so maybe you are ising it on the wrong chest?
take a look at the maps n the ARXDOT guide also
