In my opinion, simple combat = happy combat.

But some people like a challenge. A lot of people like a challenge. If I can get Morrowmind to run then I'll likely learn the combat system and love it pretty quickly.

Or suck horribly and make an archer or mage type character or a non-combatant if possible.

Gothic has sharpened by previously 'suck factor 9' reflex skills. After Gothic I was able to play Dues Ex no problem, and even do well in a few FPS demos I downloaded.

I still prefer turn based combat models, though.

In Morrowind you'll be able to choose if you want to thrust, chop or slash with your weapon and you will do that with your mouse. But there is an option which you can activate where any weapon you use strikes with the best kind of attack available for that weapon. So if someone thinks the combat system is too sophisticated it can be made easier with this option turned on.

I don't care what the combat system is like, I just can't wait for Morrowind!

I want it. After all, I loved Daggerfall... hehe, I even wrote some Daggerfall fanfic then. Too bad it's not PG-13 so I wouldn't be able to send it to you...

If there is one game that made me feel I was *actually* fighting, it was Daggerfall.
The fight-with-your-mouse-as-a-sword system was wonderful for me. I hope MW will be the same.

Heheh, my mouse is similar to yours except it's black and from Microsoft ( ! ) so I'll be playing like that too. We'll see how it goes.

LOL, big papa, did you hand get like ran over by a semi then eaten then regurgitated, cause that is one shitty mouse for gaming, HOW THE FUCK can that work for you?

Anyway, for all you hack & slash fools out there, dungeon siege will be your game, its D2 with 3d graphix, and prolly a shallower plot and even more linear storyline

Well, I fit those categories nicely. I think Morrowind will be for me. I'm finding lately that a good, well written RPG is my game of choice. Seems these have been relatively rare in recent years. Only FPS that I'm even considering is Medal of Honor, and the big kicker there is that I'm a big WWII history buff...played the demo, it seems solid (other than some rather suspect AI-pretty standard for FPS games, IMHO). If I were wealthy, I would own both this and Morrowind..that not being the case, however, I'll hold out for the latter..

I prefer the fighting style of Morrowind / Daggerfall to any traditional RPG battle system, where they consider pushing a button and waiting or picking something from a menu 'fighting'.

OK I couldn't resist jumping in here. In my humble opinion Redguard had the best sword fighting system I have ever played. I would say Jedi Knight as well but a sword is not made of condensed partical beams!!!!!!
