Assume you enter the mine valley through the "easier" path. Normally, you ran DOWN the valley by turning LEFT, right?

Now, DON'T GO DOWN. Turn right instead. Follow the path (you'll need to defeat a few orcs) and eventually you'll see a little (or not-so-little) lake surrounded by some orcs. Diego's pocket money should be around this lake.

Im still confused, can you reference it to some of the landmarks in the game and its position on the map ? :\ (EA: Its west of the castle and south of the daemon towers on the east side of the lake etc..

It's not all that near the Valley of Mines itself. When you first enter the Valley, there's two paths you can take - one path leads along a natural bridge above the valley, and lets you bypass most of the orcs on your way to the castle. The other path leads straight through an orc camp with ten or so orcs inside. If you take the path through the orc camp, it leads to a cliff, below which is a lake. There's an orc on top of the cliff, and about three orcs around the lake. On the right side of the lake, on top of some rocks, I believe, is Diego's pouch.

If you came from the way that leads above the valley, instead of heading down the path towards the castle, head up the path. It will lead you to the lake, and, ultimately, the orc camp you could have come through at the beginning if you had gone through the valley itself.
