So far the E3 news and 'previews' are absolutely boring. The only interesting thing was the Nintendo press conference about the new consoles and the next Zelda.

True on no really big announcements in other genres as well, since most famous developer teams are already busy with their current titles: Blizzard - StarCraft: Ghost and World of Warcraft, Valve - HL2, Bungie - Halo 2, and id Software - Doom 3.

F.E.A.R by Monolith is quite interesting though.

After reading some previews, i think Dragon Age will be another big effort by Bioware, just like NWN when announced way back in 1998. It contain modding tool, SP campaign (hopefully won't sucks again like the original NWN campaingn), and multiplayer aspect. The earliest release date probably in 2006. I'm getting the familiar feeling of waiting as after seeing the screenshots of NWN in 1998.

As for console news, i am quite amused at the whole flame war between Infinium Labs and [H]ard|OCP. Many peoples skeptical with the product and its markets.

I'll watch Dragon Age with mild interest. BioWare always produce polished but mainstreamed product.

VtM: Bloodlines looks to have better depth than I hoped for, The Witcher looks very stylish for an action-RPG, FF vs The Third Reich will be fun. I'm glad Goldenland has found a publisher - let's see the quality of the translation. I would have liked to see more of some of the smaller projects like Phase: Exodus.

KotOR2 looks rather disappointing to me: almost non of my dislikes are likely to be addressed (I'm still stunned by some of MCA's comments). Not surprising, though -- only a fool would expect changes to a formula that sold well.

HL2 still looks good but I've lost just a little confidence. STALKER still looks great but what about the gameplay?

That was my E3.

Dragon Age is (the corny name aside) the only coming RPG I find interesting. If they use much from Baldur's Gate, the chances of success are strong!

This E3 rather dissappointed men - no big title announcements in any genre, the biggest being F.E.A.R. from Monolith, while speaking RPGs - the biggest was the Dragon Age by Bioware. And won't be expecting it very much. The only titles I look from now on to the end of the year are - Vampire Bloodlines, FF vs the Third Reich, and Knights of Honor. Maybe also the Fall.
Anyway, what happend? The biggest thing I was expecting at this year's E3 was the huge announcement from Atari about NWN2 and BG3. Did I miss something in the news columns or it never came? However, there is still hope for new games this year - Flagship are believed to announce their title in the fall, while Ubi Soft are announcing the new Heroes of Might & Magic (and possibly something about M&M 10) sometime soon

I heard somewhere in an interview that Bioware will not makes NWN sequel, because the size and burden of the NWN project (they spent a lot of money just for the modding tool).

Dragon Age seem to be another big project, and also including modding tool, but probably with smaller multiplayer component. This is just my speculation base on little info that available.

They also won't touch D&D licensed games anymore, so that exclude any chance of NWN2 or BG3 from Bioware.

Yes, I agree. Definitely no NWN2 from BioWare (directly). NW Vault has argued that Dragon Age = NWN2 with a different ruleset but it's hard to draw any conclusions with the limited data we have.

On Atari...who knows? Grok definitely suggested there were two RPGs that might be announced at E3 -- but it was only public speculation that 2x Atari RPGs = NWN2 + BG3. Grok clarified that Atari owned the rights to both those games and would be likely to look into using those brands sometime in the future.

Since it's customary to announce games around the first Alpha (or well into development at any rate), that (likely) excludes NWN2 or BG3 from being the games he suggested would be announced at E3.

That either means there are two completely unknown RPGs on the way or Grok got creative with his comments on the boards one day and twisted himself into a knot when the public pressure for more information forced him to cover his tracks.

I think this second scenario is a reasonable chance.

These new games look promising to me: The Witcher, Dungeon Lords, Kult: Heretic Kingdoms, Grafan, Vampire Bloodlines, Call of Cthulhu.
BTW is anyone aware of any news about Grafan in E3?

And the sequels: KotorII, Gothic 3, Arx Fatalis 2, Thief III.

And the shooters: Half Life 2, Doom 3.

I think there's plenty to look forward.

Oh, and Grimoire: it ain't gonna happen...
