patch?

i'm getting ready to start the first gothic. was a patch ever released for it? if so, where can i find it? thanks.

The English language version of Gothic I (j) comes pre-patched and includes all the older German version patches. There is a patch (k) which is suited for both the English and German language versions, but it's only needed when you have Radeon issues. It shouldn't hurt to install the k patch even if your system is running stable, though.

Without patch 'gothic_patch_108k.exe' for Gothic 1, my Radeon 9600 pro video only shows a black screen. So Jaz is very correct on that point.
