Belated Leveling Up after Jedi Training?

I apologise if this has been asked before or is written somewhere, but supposing I have auto-leveling disabled and leave Taris with a few level-ups in reserve and manage (somehow) to get to Jedi Training and Padawanship without using them up, will I be able to use those levels after I get Force Powers? And if yes, will they be used as 'Scout' or 'Jedi' levels?

Yes, you can save up levels until after Taris... and they'll be used as Jedi levels if you complete the Jedi training before hitting level up... you can't choose what to level up after you become a Jedi so make sure you're whatever level you want to be in your non-Jedi class first.

My 'death sith evil caster' was a level 2 scoundrel, level 18 councilor... I went from level 2 to level 8 or 9 Jedi in one fell swoop and immediately began frying and choking everything to death.

Though I had to hide behind Carth and Shagrug on Taris, and one mandatory fight where you're alone was pretty aggrevating on regular difficulty.

Unless your using a trainer the best you can do is stay at level 2, untill Jedi training, then you can get to level 18 Jedi.

I wouldn't say that's the 'best' ... 6 levels of soldier for all the feats that provides is pretty cool for a Guardian. It still lets you get to level 14 guardian and get all the class powers and most of the force powers a guardian would want (master speed and such).

Some people like kicking butt early in the game... and even as a level 2 soldier your ability to kick butt is somewhat limited... and a level 2 explorer or scoundrel is even worse.

But for maximum force power... yes, level 2 to level 4 is best.
