The sign can also read 'Mountain Pass' or something.

I read in Yukk’s thread that the valley entrance is guarded by to Knights. Been there and killed all goblins and Orks…I found no Captain or whoever to talk to and the trail is a dead end. Did I miss something? Did I kill something that I should not have?

didn't you meet Jergan (or something like that)? he tells you they're in the castle, there's a ramp that you can walk up to get into the castle. EDIT: I don't think you've explored much of the valley, I really doubt anyone could kill all the orcs in 2 hours!

I don’t think we are talking about the same place. The castle on the hill is where all the bandits were. The Valley of the Mines, according to others, is behind the stockade fence being guarded by two knights. As for killing all the Orks…I did that last week.

I think he is talking about a light house becaue it is guarded by two mercenaries and there are 2 orcs and bunch of goblins near by.

@GothicDrak: Ragnar has a German version. The English one is in the pipeline.

@Ragnar: The mountain pass is behind some small palisades. You have to walk through a long desert canyon with a branch. The branch leads to the mine valley without Orc contact. The main path leads to a lot of Orcs. More than a dozen, I think, including a few shamans.
Finally both ways should lead to a tunnel and a loading screen. Then you´re in the old world. This is where the copy protection engages. If a cracked .exe is detected you won´t see a loading screen. So a warez hunter only has a 20 hours long demo.

edit: take the path leading SSE from the pub.

Well, that explains it…Looks like I got a bootleg ver. of Gothic 2. I thought something was strange with the copy I got. No matter…My English copy will be here in two days. I’ll just have to start over…
