I tried installing Gothic. At three percent it stops and has an error.
It says it's a component transfer error.
Component: Programmdateien (or something like that)
File Group: App Executables
File: data2.cab
Error: data error (cyclic redundancy check)
I think that's what it says. I've tried copying contents of the disk into another folder and on the drive but it has the same cyclic redundancy check problem.
What do I do? _________________ That wolf hit me with an arseball.

I have no idea but I'm just gonna toss one out there: Maybe the files got corrupted? is the disk scratched at all? _________________ irc.gamesurge.net #planescape #fallout |

Nope. If you look very, very, closely outside when the sun is out you can see a small couple of scratches.
Once it got to 75 percent and all of a sudden it comes up with that thing again. _________________ That wolf hit me with an arseball.

@The Yetti of 66, welcome to the forums,
The best way to check the cd is to obtain a cd verify program, there are many different ones available. Running such a check on the cd will prove once and for all, if the cd is faulty or not. Last one i used was cd-check, it shows the data tracks type, errors, bad reads, crc (cyclic redundancy check) and others.
Good luck |

There are the options itīs:
1. the disc
2. the drive or
3. something else we didnīt think about yet.
You should verify the disc with the mentioned program and try it on another PC. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
