I think it will happen, if that editor will be good.

I havent heard anything about textures, but I read that you cant design 3D models in it. The developers imported them from 3DSMax

You can't make your own 3D models, and you can't create your own textures per se. What you can do, though, is take the existing textures and modify them. Which kinda bites.

In between school, playing the game and my girlfriend, I won't have any time to make anything with the editor!

But you can create your own 3D landscapes and re-program anything.

I'm dying to play with the editor, I can't wait!

You can use 3dstudiomax to make new models and import them but you cannot do this with the editor itself. You cannot do any graphical changes with the editor, except elevation changes which I don't think is really a graphical change. 3dstudiomax is what the artists used not the editor.

The information that I have seen says that you can make your own textures in Photoshop or equivalent graphics programs and import them into the editor.

It really all depends on what format the texture files are in.
If they are in any normal graphics format then all you have to do is make them in the appropriate size and format and copy them into the proper library folder.

I have also read that objects created in 3D Studio Max can be imported into the editor. I have this program, but I have to admit that I don't know much about how to use it to create objects from scratch. Maybe now I will take the time to learn.

Anyway I think that if the editors if it is as good as I have read, will ad a lot of interest in the game.

First I was pretty excited about the editor but then I realised that I probably won't have much use for it. I simply don't have time/motivation for creating mods that will be worth playing for others. I’m still to busy working on a great story (I hope ) for a NWN campaign.

So I guess my use of the editor boils down to getting a little experience with level building.

It doesnt matter if you never finish the mod, or never release it. I have enjoyed many months of level editing with other games and never released my work. Its just another way to enjoy the game.

Chekote has a good point...

Chekote has a good point about the whole editor experience thing. i definitley plan on using the editor, but for me that won't come until i have completely enjoyed the game first. Then, I plan on creating other aspects of the game. If i think they are good enough, sure, ill release them to the public. but if not, oh well... Either way, i know i will have enjoyed this game.
