ToEE Temple factions

Hello all.

What factions (if any) did people side with in the Temple? My fellas don't feel like siding with any of the Elemental factions and are quite happy kicking ass. Is this a good policy, or is it wise to side with a few (if not all) and run about doing thier quests and causing havok?

I actually had quite a bit fun playing the various factions off of each other. Not to mention the experience rewards weren't too bad.
I eventually aligned with the Air faction since little Kelno treated my people with the proper respect. Then I killed him when he was no longer useful.

I thought of playing them off aginst one another.......

But I might just go in all swords flailing. I kinda like it when the level "somehow" becomes deserted.

Do we have a date for the official patch yet, or is it still wait and see. My guess is it can't be too far off if it's got to the QC stage.

Ah but those levels are empty. Once I was done milking the factions for info.

No date on the patch, unfortunately.

With my good party I did one quest on each and then butchered them all. I quite often went in and said hello with a fireball.

Which lead to some unfortunate innocent deaths and a reload or two. Ego log is good for telling you the alignment of the people you kill.

My evil party, who completed the game at level 6, did three quests for the earth priest and one for the greater temple and then the game was over. I'll probably try and draw it out some and see if there's an alternate evil ending.

Even though my part is not all evil (mostly neutral), they kill everything in the path from upper most level of the Temple to the lowest level. They are bringer of ultimate doom and merciless carnage upon every evil doers. They turned every evil dens into gruesome slaughterhouse. Most of the rooms, hallways is awash with blood and body parts, it's simply like rivers ran red with blood...

O.K, that's enough for the boasting.

@Xen: Oh!! You missed the best evil ending! There are two other evil endings that I know of besides that one.
SPOILER!!

One where you are rich and powerful.

And my favorite, the one where the Greater Temple serves you and Zuggtmoy becomes your "pet". You need great Intelligence and Wisdom stats if you want to try that out though.

I've fallen a bit behind you guys but I am a bit confused about the Temple reactions. I've got a neutral good party and often a faction leader will initiate dialogue, give me a quest and instantly start combat.

So I'm largely slaughtering the lot but not necessarily by choice.

Are you wearing the robes for that faction when you talk to them?

*Sigh* No...I guess I've been around long enough to have thought of that. I sort of assumed you only needed them to sneak around. Since they let me just wander into the temple in the first place (after saying I was sent by Rentsch) I didn't think I'd have to wear them.

Somehow whether i use robes or not it makes no different. First time in the temple, i used robes but most everything still attack me. Some didn't attack me whether i wear robe or not. However, if they didn't attack me then i will attack them anyway... .

Some creatures, like undead, will attack you on the upper levels whether you are wearing robes of not. Zombies aren't particularly smart.

I must say, I'm having a ball with my newest party. The band KISS (4 bards) and their Lawful Evil Manager (wizard).
