Why do you need to have more ore? To pay the protection? If so you'll need about 30 ore if I recall correctly to pay all the bribes before you gat accepted. Besides you don't need to pay the protection fee just don't get on anyone's bad side. Or just join a different camp.

If you really need the ore just look around in the country side and you'll find a lot of it (or items you can trade for ore) just lying around practically unguarded.

He's not talking about protection money.

You said the wrong thing to the guards
But just walk past them - They're just joking about the 10 ore.

And you only need 10 ore a day for the protection money. You should pay it.
Two guys will ask for protection money, but only one guy actually takes the 10 ore. The other guy just says "Yeah, thanks". But doesn't take anything - Because he's the coolest guy in all of the colony.

don't pay the money. its not that you will need the ore later on, its the principle of the thing. nobody wants to be the new kid giving up his lunch money for protection. if you just ignore the guards they will pull some bull, but you can make them pay for it later on!!

To get money:

Go talk to Whistler. Do what it takes for him to give you 100 ore to buy a sword from fisk. Go talk to fisk, don't buy the sword yet. He will sell it for 110 ore. Go back to Whistler and get the 10 ore. Now, DON'T BUY THE SWORD. Go to Huno, the blacksmith and buy 3 raw iron pieces, I think that's all you can get with the ore you have. Now follow the steps to turn the raw iron into crude swords. Trade the finished swords back to Huno for some more raw iron, and a little of the ore you initially gave him. Continue this process until you have all of the ore you gave him back, quite a few crude swords (good for trading), and some raw iron to make into swords in the future. If you want to know how to speed this process along, read below.. it's kind of an exploit though.

Ok, this must be done at EACH step when making a sword for maximum benefit. When you hold control at the approtriate tool to help fashion a sword, tap the up arrow AS FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. Repeat this for each step and you will end up with more crude swords than you had raw iron to start with. I've gotten over 10 swords out of 5 raw iron.

Exactly. Forget wasting skill points and ore on hunting skills... If you buy the book about bloodfly stingers, you can make some pretty good profit off the bloodfly wings and stingers alone... doesn't cost you a single skill point either.

a other way to make money is to be a real basterd.
Just rub every chest you see, you can rob every chest if your fast enough, if the owner sees you opening the chest, you can still grab all his stuf.
He just lets you go, the stupit fucker.
I robed just about every chest in thenew and old camps.

A good money maker I found is to go to the Sect Camp and find the blacksmith. Open the chest toward the back of the covered area and there is enough raw steel to make around 27 crude swords. Noone even says anything when you open the chest. I believe you can do the same in the old camp with the chest there but I haven't tried it.
