i have a problem!! help plz!!!!!!

i'm playing in the new camp and when i'm trying to pass the Shrike quest i always kill him!!
the same thing happens when i'm trying to pass the lefty quest!!

what should i do?????????

Use a melee weapon.

Ranged weapones like bows allways kill, but meele weapons leave the victim alive.
