If you're running Norton (Symantec) Anit-Virus, AVP or McCaffee, they usually have a function that runs all the time that looks for trojan, worm or virus activity (usually from in-coming email). As long as you don't try to run your email program while running G2/NotR then you can temporarily disable these autorun functions.
Most Anit-Virus programs have an easy way to switch them off for awhile (lots of program installations tell you to switch this protection off while you are installing new programs).
Before you do this for the first time, be sure to run a complete scan of your machine to detect any infections you may already have and clean them up. _________________ imposterAZ

Are you running as the admin userid on your machine or as a separate user? You may need to be using the admin userid.
If that doesn't work, I recommend moving this discussion over to the Gothic 2 Troubleshooting forum. In there, try searching for your problem and see if a solution has already been provided. If not, maybe those that are more technical with the program can help. _________________ imposterAZ

The problem is that another program is using a system resource G2 needs. You have to identify the program and close it. Scan for spyware. Then download a system optimisation tool - most have a time limited trial version - and clean out all the different autostarts. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
