On the site here it says that the Novice armor is 30 weapons, and 15 fire... but when I was in the Sect camp, I think I remember it being 15 weapons, 5 fire, just like the digger armor. Am I wrong? (playing the North American version, of course).

I think the table is correct. 15 weapon resistance is the light novice armour.
The problem is the names are translated from the German version. So you have to be creative to identify this stuff.
