Yah... all those were good too  I particulary liked Warcraft 3's movies because they looked so "graphically good" (if that's a term). Although the Fallouts were good too.

The intro that has impressed me the most over the years has got to be the intro to The Last Ninja 3 on Commodore 64. It was the first intro ever on that machine that actually looked like a movie. It shows a black ninja scouting the walls of a castle, before throwing a rope and hook on one of the towers, slowly climbs up the wall and attacks the lone sentry standing guard there. It had amazing graphics for that machine. Too bad the game wasn't as enjoyable.
Anyhow, the intros for the PC that impressed me were (of course) the Fallouts (especially Fallout 2) and the intro to Enclave. Both suit their respective games very well and in Enclave's case the intro is embedded into the menus in a clever way. Very nice looking.

I liked the B-movie style and humour of the Fallout movies. The System Shock intro was pretty good. I love the art style of all the Thief movies (and there was a Thief 3 intro in the Deus Ex 2 demo, thankfully still the same artist, and at last Garrett doesn't kill someone!).

The PS:T intro is good too - it works well as a feverish dream/flashback sequence for Nameless as well as establishing some things about the setting and foreshadowing game events for the player. It doesn't look dazzling, but it is well thought-out.
Anyone seen the intro to Tenchu on PS1? I love that movie, it looks magnificent and the music is great. Never really got hooked on the game though.
If we're not just talking about movies, I think I'd have to say Half Life has the best intro I can remember... and the first level of the first Unreal was pretty good too. |

My favorite intros have already been mentioned. The ones I remember the most are from the Diablos, Fallouts, Thiefs, and System Shock 2.

I think Starcraft has great movies and cutscenes, but also at the end of the expension there is a text that appears on the screen and combined with the music of it , you can call it perfect.
The thief 2 intro movie is really cool too

Probably one and the same. That video was just unlike anything I'd seen up to that point, and I don't think even now anyone could come up with a video that gives the same gritty, futuristic feel it gave to the game. It was one of the first really polished CG animations, and there was so much going on in it you could watch it again and again and still notice something new. There was one scene in it that was out of place - the agent at the end with the laser - but that didn't detract from the perfect portrayal of a dark future run by corporations. Amazing.
Edit: Hey, how about end sequences? I've not seen that many myself (as I rarely get around to completing games) but the one that really sticks in my brain is Doom - gotta love that bunny!

End sequences? Yes, the Doom bunny (head) was fine...
...let me think...
...the only ones I really remember right now are the Deus Ex endings... and of those, I pick the "We shall bring you the Light" one .
Oh yes, and the one of Realms of the Haunting was good, it left you feeling all sick, lost and forlorn...
