maybe thats what the devolopers are thinking right now.
That in the time to solve all the problems, they could work on Morrowind 2 or any other sequel.

Just relex, time will tell everything

They should have fixed the major problems before release, and at least with a patch later. Apathy from the customers and reviews will ensure that the problems never get fixed.

Ok, think of the state Bethesda left Daggerfall in.. Not much hope for the future there! Anyone wanna bet that Morrowind will be left full of bugs too?

I am not familiar with Daggerfall, so I can't comment on that. But I suspect Morrowind will be growing world for some time, and there will be a long series of official MODs as well as some patches.

The reason I say this comes largely from 'reading between the lines' in developers' comments. We are all aware of the FPS and graphics problems the game engine is displaying. It was said that some included features were even disabled in the final, shipped version to help with this issue. I think this is the first time with in RPG history that the devlopers shot too high when choosing their platform. Normally, by the time a game ships, the technology it was built with has already been surpassed by newer machines.

For this reason alone, I think the game will continue to be developed, until they are ready to release its successor, probably using the same engine. They will be intimately familiar with it then, and computers will have reached the point where they can do what had been envisioned for ES3.

Trust me they know about the problems with morrowind. The fact is they just lack the skill or knowledge to fix it. So they ignore the problems like they dont exist. Amateurs

As for the game engine, it just seems inefficient, not overly ambitious. I don't really see anything in the game graphically that is very advanced except for the water effects. If you run the "3dmark2001_se" benchmark (from Madonion.com) with a modern video card, particularly game4, you will really see advanced effects. But even the Dagmoth Moring Zoological tech demo from a few years ago looks better and runs much smoother than MW. I don't understand why all the raving about the graphics.

Morrowind is just a mere step. Starting this fall and beyond you will see graphics in games like you have never seen before. Believe it. Plus check out nvidia's CG language for future games.
