System requirements

I think the system requirements for this game are UNREASONABLY high: A 1.4ghz CPU with 512mb RAM and a 64mb 3D card? INSANE! I'm sorry, I know most of you have systems that good or better, but I don't, and I was really looking foward to this game. Guess I can kiss my anticipation goodbye!

Look at it this way, a few years from now when you have a better system you'll buy this game for $10 from a bargin bin while the rest of us suckers paid full price for it.

Does the minimum suit?

Win 98, ME, 2000, XP
256 MB RAM
P800 MHz (or similar)
650 MB hard disc space
32 MB DirectX compatible graphics card
CD-ROM Drive

This doesn't seem too unreasonable to me if you're going to play games...and it is an ambitious design, after all.

I think that the only thing that might be unreasonable in those req's is the processor power (anything that might require more than Doom 3 at this point is unreasonable). The rest looks OK. Heck, even if you were to buy a low-end computer these days, you'd still meet those specs.

Yeah, Dhruin, those minimum specs DO suit my system. Why do you ask? Those aren't the system specs posted on the The Fall's website.

Well...that's where I got them.

They had "suggested" and "minimum" specs quoted. Obviously the minimum won't be crash-hot but it should work.

Considering the 3d design and what it all looks like so far I would imagine that the game will be pretty much un-playable at minimum requirements.

here's my config:

Duron 800 mHz
256 DIMM
GeForce 2 MX400 32mb

And I'm quite sure that the game will run pretty good. At least I hope that the engine is well-written.

The artwork there and those effects is not really a big factor. First, you always lower the graphic quality, plus if the engine is well-written, even Fall's beauty will not consume much resources. I've seen games with horrible art, but with big lags at the same time.

Besides, it's not a shooter or actionRPG. You can pause the game at any time, so even if your system lags, it won't really affect your shooting or whatever.

System specs

Hi

my current gaming system is 1,3 Ghz AMD , 512 MB Ram and a GForce 3 with 128 MB.
I cant play with all switches at "optimum" , but it runs smooth and the world looks nice...
Most complainments on the SilverStyle WebSite coming from ATI -Users .
The game runs awful slow on some of these cards due to some technical reason that is (now) known but not described to the poor customers.
But there are lots of other bugreports describing unloadable savegames / crashestodesktop/
installation errors ...
IMHO this game was released instead of sending to beta-testing.
My personal experience is quite short...i can play, but cant see any letters.
This is hard when it comes to character creation or interaction with NPCs
So i will push the (nice) box into a dusty cabinet and forget it up to summer 2005.
Somehow this reminds me at that Beyond Divinity..........

hope that helps you somehow........Zeb (playing JA2 again )
