I have bard in my new party and wonder which primary skills are important for her/him and which one is most important (inteligence or piety or...?).
And one more question about bard - does range combat secondary skill influence effect of using instruments?
Thanks |

You will probably want to develop Dexterity, Strength, Senses, and Intelligence. Strength and Dexterity will make them a better secondary fighter. Senses, Intellegence and Dexterity will also make them good at picking locks. I think Senses and Intelligence will make your Bard better with music insruments. You also might want to invest in some Vitality or Piety (I'd choose Vitality), because playing instruments takes a lot of stanima.
Music is the skill you want to develop with your bard. I don't think ranged combat has an effect.

I think range combat even for bard does take an effect. If equipped with really good weapon and got good skill improving from the beginning it really good fighter. Like a half of gadgeteer |

Nooo, what Danicek asked, and Val correctly answered, was whether Ranged Combat affects Music, i.e. Use Item - Music Instrument. It doesn't. Ranged combat is a good skill to have nonetheless, although bards really should spend their stamina doing something else, i.e. playing music |

Ok, now I know what I expected: range combat doesnt influence bards music ability.
But what about first part of my question? What is most important primary skill for him/her?
Mage has inteligence, fighter strenght, ranger dexterity and bard? |

With a Bard that's a hard question to answer. If you want them to be picking all the locks, then go with Dexterity. If you want them to be a good secondary fighter, then go with Strength. Although I'd probably develop Intelligence and Senses (because they help with communication and music), then I'd work on the other skills. It really depends on what you're using your Bard for. Are they on the front line holding against enemies, or to the side using a combination of sword and music attacks, or in the back using ranged and music attacks? Decide where you want the Bard, then develop them accordingly. Personally, I had my Bard on one of my flanks and she did quite well. She was far enough away that she could use her musical instruments effectively and she could protect my faerie mage with sword and shield if the enemy flanked me.

There are 3 or 4 basic abilities that expand your stamina, put points in them from the beginning and in the end your Bard can play music 24 hours a day!

Hehe, It could have been a nice feature, that the quality of the W8's background music was depending on your Bards music skills. |

The game could start with "The Osmonds" and go via "Britney spears" over to "Beethoven's classics" if you get the bard really skilfull. Naa, I would probably also turn off the music in the beginning then. |

LOL Maggot hit's the nail right on the head!
"The Osmonds" was a famous old american boy band, and somehow they now (today) got a bad reputation, meaning if you hear "the osmonds" today you are really old or a nerd or something like that! |
