Lol, now that you've pointed that out I hardly think anyone here will take them seriously.

I have to admit, I'm concerned about the graphics as well. Some of the screen shots I've seen look better than others, but the building materials in all of them look too dark and dull. If they'd just brighten up the hue's a little all would be well.

The first time I played the addon I killed them all with a sword. Ouch, that hurts a lot. Now I use a crossbow, even with only 14% or something you can kill them without getting into that poisonous cloud.

About the topic:
I'm not concerned at all. It's still work in progress, lighting and that sort of things are things that are done last. Some screens don't even have a normal sky but just a plain white sky. Those don't resemble the final result.

Hehe yeah I use ranged weapons myself now when killing them, but like you - I didn't do that the first times I met them. Damn that poison cloud is a real pain.

I never used any range weapon in gothic , always melee weapons thats my style although i always had a bow equiped just for show cause it looks nice on my back and i do like bow and arrows i just never use them really in games , never was a fan of crossbows.

and the graphics , those shots are work in progress and theres lots of bad screenshots for any game , it will be fine in game and even if it does look a little blurry its not gonna kill any one

I'm fine with the graphics. After all the name of the game is Gothic, a term that is synonymous with dark and severe designs. If they made the place really bright with vivid colors, partnered with those strange critters, it would look like a jungle.

We're also supposed to be getting the sense, as we play, of a downtrodden and hopeless civilization; people who have given up on the prospect of life and are only waiting the inevitible demise of all humanity. Everything should look dark and gray and pitiful.

Well, I think we shouldn't worry about gothic's graphics for the moment, because what we got means nothing. It is ridiculous, just because: http://newspics.rpgdot.com/gallery/931/Screenshots//g3_lake.jpg

and: http://www.rpgunion.com/assets/images/gothic3-16.jpg
I don't know how this is possible, and even on the official teaser page screenshots are low-quality. A good site for high-resolution screens is absolute games here: http://www.ag.ru/ ,it is a russian page but you can find your way (I don't speak russian). Or maybe we should ask PB to put the most HQ and best screenshots on their page.

That pic has been first shown in a magazine, and many scanned it and put in on the internet. Later a normal version was released on the internet. Many versions of that pic are roaming around on the internet.

I think the first one is closer to the real thing, the second one seems to be edited by some foto-editing programm, like photoshop.

I had already noticed the alligator.
And in the addon, the devs had created alligators but they just didn't insert them (you can insert them with marvin mode though, their code is simply "insert alligator" I think- they also created stone panthers, insert code is "insert stonepuma")
