There's no need to put all the lines together, it is enough to have the ones from the same script file in the same file.
The one reagarding who on what worked can be solved if you are assigning a whole file to a person, so no real code is needed for each line to mark that (even if that would still be usefull when proposals for correction are made).
The most important one is to have both german text and english one in the same file, way easier to look at and manipulate (and the files would be only twice bigger than they are atm - and they aren't too big to really matter, even for dial up connection) as people will only have to manipulate one file, not tormenting themselves to syncronize two of them (situation which will for sure be a generator of bad mislaigned lines, therefore translations).
And you can do that easely (for example by modifying the parsing script to jump over and consider the lines only from 2 in 2 or by putting a special character at the beginning of a german line, to be ignored by the parser). Is important to make it easy as it can be and the same regarding foolprooving for the translating ones. |

Well, okay, we can add a comment line where you can put all things, that you want. It doesn't matter, if you put your name there, what you eat, what the old text was and so on. We must just use the same symbol for that, what's with a "#" as first symbol in the line for that job? |

dia_dic_2003_Alwin.d, I claim thee!
I'm about 60% done with that one. I put the comments in a separate file until we've settled on a comment delimiter.
Here are the results so far:

I'll keep moving finished files into the "e_finished" directory and come claim new files in here when I finish one. Unless we decide for some other solution sometime down the road. |

Psy-Q, we can use the old G2 DNdR forums for this... I'll clean them right now in order to make them fit the Dicurric mode.
Moe, please go register on www.realmsoftorment.net/forums then PM tiamat (me) to give you access to the hidden Gothic2 forums.
See you all in there. |

Don't know if this can be called an official progress report, but about 10% of the raw text are translated now. That of course doesn't include any of the work required with scripting etc., it's just the raw translation. There isn't even any feedback yet
But yes, I guess things are moving forward cheerfully. |

Diccuric sounds so good! I want to play it so badly! But I don't speak German, so I'll have to wait. *sigh* _________________ OMG! WTF?! MONKEYS!!!!

A little bit late Xardas, we already finished Diccuric's translation... but we can need some help with the corrections, please head into here: http://www.realmsoftorment.net/forums , make a user then PM tiamat (me) about it, to give you access to our hidden Gothic 2 forums.
On the other hand, everything is translatwed Moe (the first version), please go in there and take a look over the files.
The day is coming, and is real close now, thanks to our two hard working translators, Draakan and Psy-Q. Please thank them for it |
