If memory serves me correctly, you can change classes by talking w/ various NPC in the game. I will leave it up to others to name them for you *grin*

You may freely change between fighter, wizard, and thief as the game goes on. It's been years and years but I think you need to visit a trainer for each first before the NPCs in your party can 'switch' your class for you (Dakkon will let you switch to fighter or to wizard, for example).

You can change Classes at Ragpickers Square. One of the Body-Guards of the Collector-Boss trains you to be a Thief (for some money) and the old Healeress can train you to be a Mage (after some Quests).

You can learn both Professions, but you can't really dual- or multiclass, you can only have one active Class. Later you can switch the active Class by talking to Annah or Dakkon.
