This is old and popular question... but I still wonder what will be your answer.

I have never played this game but it seems like it based on lotr. Hobbit for an exempel.

While I never played Wizardry 8(except the demo), I can say without
the shadow of a doubt that hobbit/halfling are my favourite race.

And they are not just a "bunch of small human", they're fat and they have furry feet!!!

I'll be probably playing a party of hobbits when I'll get this game (buying it
after Morrowind, Arcanum and Divine Divinity).

Ahhh... so many games so little time...

A LOT of stuff in RPGs is based on LotR. If my assumption is correct, LotR was the creation of Hobbits and our traditional D&D style Elves and Dwarves. I think Tolkien created it all.

-Actually I take that back, he created it in a literary sense, I believe the myths go back WAY farther.

Now Danicek, you're going to have to be more specific about this. What exactly do you mean by "favourite"? We could define that as most useful, best portraits, easiest to play... Such a vague question might get people talking, and we can't have that sort of thing here!

By the way, I have a topic for your next poll: favorite personality (voice)

Dtowner, you can create that poll...
Well favourite does mean that one I like most. And what it exactly mean for someone does depend on his/her "personality".
Someone like race because it is symphatic and no matter that it is not very useful. Someone like race because it is weakest of all. Someone like it because it is strongest or it has nice face.

So you are right it is probably too vague term .

I would say that this is a hard question to answer because some races are better suited for a particular trade while others are more versatile. While the Lizardman will make a mighty warrior, he will not make a quiet thief. Whereas a faerie might make a good quiet thief, it definitely will not make a good warrior. So I guess I would have to answer with the choice of human. Not superior in anything but adequate in all.

Danicek- I was just being difficult. It's a good question. As for the next poll, I can do it, but I'll wait for a while. I like the way Rendelius finishes a poll before starting a new one.

Why I voted for Felpurr

I'm using 2 in my party - male Lord & female Priest. Seemed to be most useful for more than 1 class, other than the balanced human.
BTW, I also have 2 faeries - female Bard & female Mage. But this is legacy from Wizardry 6 & 7. I would not recommend a faerie Bard in WIZ8 because of stamina issues. It is playable (she's now level 22), but it makes for an interesting handicap. After I win, I may just take an old save and continue playing to switch her class to try out the faerie ninja!
