After Dwarven Mines, I can no longer cast spells!

I've been playing Arx Fatalis, no problems spell casting, until I get to the Dwarven Mines, past the entry way. Then, all of a sudden, my spellcasting fizzles! OK, that's part of the game (I find out from the walkthrough), so onwards and upwards, right? So, (SPOILER)

After making the mithril/koltk meteor sword, and leaving the level, low and behold, I can no longer spellcast! What's up?

By the way, I can still cast the cheat spells (5 staircases for No Clipping mode, etc.).

It also says in the mines, that no magic is allowed!
As for your problem, send the savegame to Arkane...

Hmm, how did you leave the level? Maybe try walking out or teleporting out and seeing if either triggers the spellcasting back. I am sure you have already figured your problem out, but maybe someone else can try this.
