Playing without the movies shouldn´t be a problem, I think. You can copy one of the other movies and change the name.
Do you have a shop near you which polishes CDs for a few bucks? They can save most CD if the damages are only on the surface. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Hello Makato,
There is a free download (30 day evaluation) of the "cd-check" program. It is ideal for checking the data on cd disks. It can report on corrupted data tracks, crc errors etc' - - but also there is a repair function which has unique data repair method.
http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cd-recovery.html
Maybe copy data first to hddd ? - - then repair ?

after whiping the comp clean, i lost gothic. although i still have may saves backed up. installing gothic has the same old problems again. i tried to open the cd with the "Explore" option, but it wont move anything for some reason. and cd check just doesnt work anymore. problem is, after the movies, gothic installs the .exe, to start it up. i have all the files and maybe half the credits, but no way to start it up.
any aid would be loved..and appreciated. _________________ -Seeker Of Chromanin- |

Hey there Makato,
Did you try installing in another machine or borrow a cd-rom drive off a friend, it could be something as simple as that. If the cd-check prog' isn't working then there is a serious "ide" read problem.
Obviously at that point it's worth checking the latest mother-board chipset driver and the ide driver (especially if isn't an integrated driver) e.g 4 in 1, etc'
Do you have a cd-writer or access to one? - sometimes making a back-up copy will regain lost data tracks, then try experimenting with different burn methods.
Failing this, maybe try obtaining another copy of G1. _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

i tried using other cd drives, no avail
i looked at the ide problem, but it seems fine.
i dont have a cd burner =(
do you think, seeing i still have the original, i would be allowed by law to just download it from a bittorrent site? like the princible of roms and emulators? _________________ -Seeker Of Chromanin- |

Looks like the cd is beyond use Makato. Rpgdot does not condone the copying or downloading of games as it is classed as piracy but i sympathise with your situation. _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |
