dont worry bout it mate .. nothings so hard that it can be called impossible as long as you got the right tools ...
now where would i get this mod ? and would it requre me haveing 3Ds-max ?

well i got 2 bows made up now so if you can whit whit that the string aint working you are wellcome to give 'em a kick

*woundering* diffrent lengths you say ? seems to me like that more work then nesserarry in the first place .. no wounder pb was so long to make gothic ..
i would have gone whit a simpler way .. model the string whit the bow and link a joint to the 3 middel vertex's on it and made somekinda script telling that joint to move some odd corditates when aiming .. simple and you would have to do andything else then model the bows from there on

@Uocjat, i would admit that you are way ahead of me on this, i don't mess with the files much now, so i'm not sure about 3ds.max.

Yes, i agree about the vertex in the bowstring thing, i'm only going off memory, to help you properly i would have to load-up all the prog's and stuff again, i got rid of many tweeked files and such.

Zonk's site is still up. - - - htthttp://www.zonksoft.de - i think i saw some kind of bows in there?

Zonk uses the male (hum) torso, but keep the shoulder width the same so as to make the female shape, but then all the male related armours now fit - a kind of make-do, but it worked. Notice how the extra files are listed as "invisible" ? - the lance has no movement, just like a sword so there are some easy possibilities there, fires a pellet (which could be made into almost anything) find out how he overlays the bow of burning, which i believe must be with the "arrows"? or the pellets (runes)? - also the horse and the sheep models are in there, - - all workable in the original gothic.!!!

thanks wulf ... zonksoft doesnt seem to be working .. or maybe just a wrong link ?
but i got the mod down so i'll see if i can make any use of it as soon as i get some time

yes .. had a look at the site now .. how ever the only bow i found there just seemed to be a model maybe not even ment for a game ?
but in any case i've ask my bro to look through some of the files and see what he can find in 3dmax ( myself i am oppose to the use of 3dmax .. did you know they test it on animals ?? .. )
in any case i'll hopefullt figure this out soon

now i think i got this down .. i hope .. but i do how ever need a sample of a bow's MMS script .. i guess there in the gothic.dat file which i have no clue how to open .. could someone either tell me how to open it or send me an bow's MMS script ?

ok got a mms script now .. so now i just need 3ds max 4.2 or a zen plugin that works on 3ds max 6 ..

getting veeery close to getting thing bow string to work
if any ones intrested i'll be make a tutorial on this when i got it to work
so that i'll be the last to spend over a week a damn bow string

i was woudering if anyone had a 3ds model og the pc heros head
or if someone could tell me where to get one ..

would help alot on makeing helms ..
got a crude head model off the .max file in the MDK .. but its way off

I am sure that Zonk made a "bald-head" pc-hero model, it even had "Zonk" written on his neck, i used it - but this was some time back, not sure where it might be now.

ok im haveint abit of trouble whit the weapons mod .. it keeps becomeing a english/german hybrid
( english voices and german text )
my its just my comp being screwy but if its not then how do i fix it ?
i figure i need to make an english gothic.dat file whit the compiled scripts for the weapons but how ?

ok now i've figured out the problem .. i need an english text.d file .. either that or i have to translate it my self .. and i really really dont wanna do that ..

so if anyone either know how to decompile the gothic.dat file from the english game or where to get an english text.d file i beg you step up and let your voice be heard and save me from hours of translateing
