How important do you think it is to make your own character in a RPG game??

I think that you should be able to cusomize your character in all RPG games, it makes it more, personal or something.

Being able to create your character or influence a characters growth is what makes RPGs great.

I agree...without the character creation (or at least interaction with their growth), I really don't feel drawn in to an RPG. It makes the game much more immersive to me to be able to SEE my character on screen...with new armors/weapons I bought..ya know??

But Rawis maybe mean creating or picking already prepared character when you begin to play RPG.

To this, I think that i many RPGs it is one of best moment. I really enjoy it, but when someone is not expirienced RPG player he/she can make many mistakes here. Sometime such big mistakes that it will be not possible to play game.

But I really enjoy it. F. e. in Wizardry I am sometime just creating party, play with it 5 minutes and than creating other .

I agree, I really enjoy creating and customizing my own personal character in a crpg(race, sex, appearance, stats, clothing, etc.), the more customization, the better.

D2? Never happened to me after finishing it... but maybe the game wasn't interesting enough for me to care, another possibility.

I'm playing it now, basically you only create their appearance. As for stats different ones go up depending upon how you fight (magic vs range vs melee) so if you always use melee weapons you will develop stats in that area and if you always use a certain type of magic, you will develop a different way. It is possible to do both but then you won't be specialized or be as strong.

That's the cover from RA Salvatore's Crimson Shadow series, book one. It's a man... though the breastplate looks more like breasts than pecs in that instance, perhaps.
