party 4 still weak

My latest party,Liz fighter, Mook gadg, fem bard, fem monk, alchemist, ranger and VI. Lvl 11 except Vi(9). I have no buff spells except scrolls, and I'm in Arnika after visiting the Umpani and the Cemetary. Tried the dungeon but ran out of res powder. We've died alot, no buffs is tough!Any ideas how to get a buff spell quick? I took a portal spell last time my monk leveled up instead of a buff. All the money my alchemist makes by mixing is spent on res powder. I guess a magic screen and Armor plate, missle shield is coming but I hope soon. I gave Bloodlust to the Bard, put her in front to get some sword skills, her music is 94, plenty I think. I'm playing on normal to level up quickly and the drops this game are wimpy compared to the others. The siren's wail is helping though. Can't imagine the Southeast Castle with no magic Screen! Maybe this is why it's called a strategy RPG.The randomness is the best part. Every battle is very tough, even Mites! thanks

You might want to utilize your bard's music ability a bit more. You can get Angel's Tongue in the Upper Monestary. Early on I used the Poet's Lute early battle. Life is easy we your opponents snooze.
Even the Piercing Pipes can make a for a good backup spell early on. Find those instruments and keep them!

As for getting spells, if you don't have any patches installed, your bard has another very useful ability.

I'm getting around alright, the bard and soon the gadgeteer are helping. AS I move on things will get better, but for now siren's wail and 2 triple shot bows are doing the job. just a different game this time for sure. I've used more res potions this game already than all the previous 3 games!
