Michael's Arx Newbythread...

Hello folks,

First I'd like to say helo to all of you!

I've just started playing Arx and I'm pretty amazed of the game!

However, I habe a few questions (as I always have in rpg) I'd like to ask here.

First, can I force-open locks and picks in any way? My lockpick skill is very little, since I want to play mostly a mage.

The Gobblin lord now is on his loo, I have opened the coded chamber and habe the threat letter. But concerning the Trolls idol picture the story doesn't continue!? What is wrong?

Many thanks for your help!

Micha

Go back down to the first floor and find the foreman's room. When he leaves you alone in there, which he will do after a while, search for a key. Then search for the idol in the room to the right as you entered the area which the king should have told them to open now and let you search. I am assuming you had the long talk with the king and he said that for you.

And by the way, welcome to the dot.

Lichs after finishing the crypt

Hello,

now I habe a problem fighting the lichs, appearing after I've taken the Helmet of the king Poxselis.

I'm a mage but I can't cope with these lichs!

Do anybody have a kind of strategy for me except for running away?

Has "Life drain" any effect to the lichs? Or will the life stream pass from me to them, since they are dead?
What spell does the most damage to them?
How can I see, how much life energy is gone or how much remained?
I can't see whether any of my action has any effect on them at all.

Many thanks!

Micha

Hi,

I know the spot you are in. Hard one. And as a mage, I hope you still have a weapon with you. I hope you have a save point just before you got the helm out. This will be harder for you to do if you can't take your time, but not impossible.

Before you open the tomb, look around to the back of the room near that alter, there is a broken pilar. If you get up on it by jumping from the part that has fallen up to the top of what is left, you will be relatively safe from the Liches. They can't get any good hits on you from up there, so you have time to kill them. Concentrate on one at a time.

As for their health, it should show if you hover the mouse over them I think. I need to look that one up again.

Hope you get it. Getting up on that pilar is hard, and just takes being in just the right spot and aiming at the right spot.
