Anyone else 'avoiding' screenshots ?

Hey everyone, I used to post here last year and now I can't wait got Gothic 3 to come out. I was wondering if anyone here is actually avoiding any screenshots and demos etc until they buy the game. I'm trying and so far it HARD but I just want my first view of the gothic # world to be the first time I play. I remember when Gothic 2 came out and I was looking at the bricks in Xardas' tower for like 10 mins...sad ol me Sorry this is a bit of a useless topic

I try to do that a lot with games. But I pretty much know what to expect from G3 already, so its not so much of a big deal.

I think playing a great game that you know nothing about is the best experience for a gamer. I bought Deus Ex having heard nothing about it at all, and it was a joy.

Yeah i was like that with Gothic 2 i hardly looked at any screenshots or read anything cause i didnt wanna spoil anything and i didnt play the german demo either. But because it took so long i ended up trying to the demo but just for 5 mins then deleted it but then later on i downloaded it again and just explored and looked around and deleted it.

Im not excited for oblivion like i am for gothic 3 but i havent read anything on oblivion because i dont really care about the game like i do with Gothic 3 im still gonna get it though.

I just mainly try to avoid watching movies cause they usually spoil some good scenes like a boss or something.

Same here, but I'm trying to control myself. With Gothic 2 I already searched through the G2 database and already knew most of the quests before I even started playing, that kinda spoiled a lot.

It took so long for Gothic 2 to come out it felt like years i hope it doesnt have to Gothic 3 but i guess we will have Oblivion to play in November but do you really think its going to be released i bet it will get delayed at least once. I dont care about Oblivion i care about Gothic 3 but i'll still play Oblivion cause its comming out first but if they both came out at the same time then Oblivion would be in the corner on a time out

and I wish they would show the character of the game already and i hope Diego doesnt sound like a clown like he did in 2

Gothic III? what's that? I'm waiting for NotR and 'that takes my attention away from any possible ''GIII'' in development

Seriously though, I try to avoid most screens/movies, only the details about the world/system interest me atm.

I never avoid anything, see no reason for it. Whatever data I can get I check it, it does not reduce my 'game expectations' in any way whatsoever. Reading spoilers does not bother me at all either and does not 'ruin' any gaming experience for me. Frankly I never understood people who claim such things

It spoils it for me because one of the main things I love about RPGs, is the exploration and discovery aspect. Spoilers destroy that experience.

Different types of games screenshots can ruin the game for example a RPG like gothic or etc when they show pictures of weapons it doesnt really matter because there are tons of them.

But games like for example Resident Evil 4 if you're looking at screenshots then you spoil the weapon so its not fun to look forward to wich weapons you're gonna find later in the game same as enemies.

Well with Gothic 3 suppose to come out in germany soon or what ever they are doing there really is not much with the screenshots showing a whole lot.

I watch every scrap of information that PB publish, because I can't wait for G3, besides a few pictures of landscape really don't tell you more then the quilty of graphics
