Nine inch nails - right where it belongs. Makes me want to close my eyes and swing a lighter in the air Simply an adorable song.

Yup, and I'm loving it. It's good stuff, sort of a cross between Evanescence and Lacuna Coil. I must say, it was the most pleasant CD-buying experience I've ever had. They even put little origami birds in the package. And candy! Can't forget that.

Currently I'm listening to Dresden Dolls newest album, "Yes, Virginia...".
If you liked their debut album, then you'll like this one.

Virgin Black - Sombre Romantic

Got this cd like 2 weeks ago, and it's taken me that long to actually warm up to it, but now I'm liking it quite a bit. It's gothic metal with sort of an operatic/symphonic twist at times, but the vocals are male. Big difference from the rest of the pack there. Mix in some Gregorian style chanting, industrial, doom, and lots of piano, and youve got a weird experience that has to be heard to be understood. Excellent vocalist IMHO

Usually 99% of operatic stuff in metal is a flowery female soprano, so it's a big change for a deep male voice to be bellowing here. Like I said tho, I've actually come to like it quite a bit. The subject matter is as expected, your run-of-the-mill loss of love and faith, pondering ones own eventual demise, and futility of life. High use of metaphor at times makes the content so abstract at times it can either appear outright absurd, or mean the exact opposite of what the song is actually about.

It's in a fixture in my 5-disc cd player now, and I dont see it being replaced anytime soon.

Here's one of their videos, one of thier more subdued tunes, no extended deep vox here, but some good range. Goes without saying theyre pretty weird
